Below is an excerpt from my travel blog. Cheers.

I arrived at 12:30 pm in Queenstown, New Zealand. I’ve officially experienced driving on the left side of the road. It’s a bit different but I was able to pick it up in no time. Only a few people honked at me. It’s also a manual to make it more fun. After checking into a hostel (another first for me), I toured Queenstown. The city is located at the foot of Lake LakeWakatipu, which is a scenic torquoise blue lake situated in the southern Alps of New Zealand. I learned from the local gondola operator that the city of Queenstown was named that after early explorers/miners deemed the city ‘fit for a queen’ I would have to agree, although it seems a bit extreme for queens taste. By extreme, I mean bungee jumping, white water rafting and a downhill skier’s haven. I’m also stunned to find that the foliage is still green even as it’s turning winter in a few weeks here.

I shot this while driving around Lake Wakatipu. Queenstown and most of the western fringe of New Zealand has intermittent rain storms coming from the west which creates for a dramatic landscape. I hope you enjoy.

On another note – If anyones wondering I’m currently traveling aronnd the world for about 4.5 months. I’m starting in NZ, then to Australia, S.E. Asia, India, Egypt and backpacking throughout Europe. I’ve started a blog called which I encourage everyone to view. I hope you enjoy! Cheers.
